Two decent efforts on the baking front this weekend: an "Orange and Almond Cake with Candied Zest" from the August issue of NZ House & Garden, and "Wholewheat Irish Soda Bread" courtesy of Dean Brettschneider.
Both are easy and really good. Recipe for the bread, which is quick to make and doesn't require kneading, etc., can be found here, from Dean's book Global Baker.
