During the time John and I were at work renovating The Cottage, an old wool shed down the road was scheduled for demolition. We were invited to go scavenging to take whatever we might be able to put to use and went off to explore with some tools and the trailer.
We returned to the farm with old windows, a neat old door with a vintage Lister shearing poster, and most importantly for The Cottage project, a decent supply of rustic boards decorated with shearing stencil marks. Shearing gangs had a tradition of "tagging" the walls of each wool shed with their names and the year they worked there.
We used both the door and these boards to construct the toilet at The Cottage, preserving this bit of local history. Dates go as far back as 1937.
