It ended up being a fairly low key weekend at the farm for me. The weather forecast was for severe rain and wind, which began to hit Saturday afternoon and progressed into Sunday. So I didn't polyurethane the floor of John's Hut. That will happen next weekend.
Instead, I made the Blueberry Crumble Cake from Annabel Langbein's The Free Range Cook cookbook. I'd been looking at it since before Christmas, but hadn't had the time and/or all of the ingredients or the right type of pan at the farm.
It was absolutely delicious. The crumble topping has both ground and sliced almonds, in addition to the usual flour, oats, brown sugar, butter and spice, and is really good.
I also made apricot jam Saturday afternoon, but that deserves a separate post so I'm writing one.
