John took a risk on this. He planted his grass seed well before the threat of frost is over because he's worried about having lawn in time for special visitors to Struan Farm in early November. It seems to have paid off, since we can see that "the grass has ris."
It's subtle, I know. Nothing worse than trying to watch grass grow, but these are the things that preoccupy us currently!
