The sunflower patch at Struan Farm is starting to finish its season, with the earlier flowers dipping their heads downward and turning brown. I'm trying to save the seeds to plant next year, so have decapitated a number and put the heads in the garden shed to dry out:
They join the poppy seed heads that have been drying out for at least a month now:
Still deciding about what to plant in the sunflower patch during the winter. Right now we're thinking it may be winter vegetables.
