Our friend Aaron was back at Struan Farm over the weekend with his bobcat to continue transforming the old tennis court area into lawn and garden:
He's removed a large unsightly tree stump that's bugged me for years but has been too big to remove until now, graded the bank so it's not a challenge for John to mow, and brought truckloads of topsoil from the new house site to allow us to grass and landscape the area. Hmm, I'm thinking we should call it the "Great Lawn?" We'll plant a hedge of some sort around the side (blue totara is the current contender) and extend the woodsy garden slightly over the top of the bank with rhodos, azalea, and maybe another Judas Tree.
The fencer is due to come shortly to install new wooden fencing around this edge of the Pet Paddock. Fingers crossed that everything will be done by Christmas. How many days and counting?
