It's been a weird summer for the gardens, vegetable and otherwise, but the tomatoes are FINALLY ripe.
And predictably, all at once. Gazpacho, anyone?
Last week my colleagues at work and I had lunch at Poderi Crisci Vineyard on Waiheke Island. The garden setting was relaxed and interesting, I snapped these photos of a tomato trellis made out of bamboo stakes:
I like the fact that they've used companion planting with marigolds to help keep the bugs away. May need to add this to my project list for the veggie gardens at Struan Farm, we've got the bamboo.
