Yes, yet another homemade apple pie, this time made with heirloom Dunns Cooker apples sourced from Richards Orchard Fruit Stall in Mapua, outside of Nelson. I used my trusty pate brise recipe from Martha Stewart's classic "Pies and Tarts." I'm pretty much at the point where I can wing these.
This is a really wonderful cooking apple from Australia, dating back to the 1880's. The pie tastes amazing!
