Peonies/Paeonies Overlooking Kahurangi National Park

I love the gardens at Doone Cottage, especially when the peonies are in bloom at this time of year (no need to quibble about the American vs. British spelling, okay?). The gardens look out upon Mt. Arthur and Kahurangi National Park in the distance across the river, it's a very special setting to say the least.

 

 

I know, not a peony, rather a huge clematis blossom, just because.
