Do you know about Borage? We have it growing in a part of the gardens at Struan Farm. While it self seeds pretty much, I also scatter some seeds in the spring, since the bees love it.
You can see why it is also called Starflower:
Both the leaves and flowers are edible and used as food and for medicinal purposes. The flowers look lovely in a salad or frozen in ice cubes, are also the traditional garnish for a Pimm's cocktail!
But I have borage in the gardens next to my zinnea and sunflower patch mostly for the bees, and you can see why below:
