It's somewhat a season of firsts for me in the veggie gardens here at Struan Farm. A few weeks ago we had the first successful garlic harvest, now it's shallots. We use quite a lot of these, I often roast them with steamed green beans or use them chopped in a white wine vinaigrette for salads.
At this rate I'm going to need to take over more space for veggies in the backyard!
