Of course most people have been eating far too many hot cross buns over the Easter period. But guess what--we haven't! So when I saw this recipe for Chocolate Hot Cross Bun Bread Pudding by Nadia Lim I decided Easter weekend was time for us to take the plunge.
She recommends serving the warm pudding with a bit of vanilla ice cream and baked pears (recipe for those included, they're quick and easy). The pears do cut the richness of the pudding and the chocolate, so I'd recommend making them as well if you try this. And slightly stale buns are even better, so it's a good way to make use of those leftover buns if you have any!
