Since we're having so much rain this autumn at Struan Farm John and I decided it was time to plant out the two seedling peach trees Mrs. Preston from Ruawai had given us last year. They were quite small when we got them, so I've been growing them on in pots, making sure they were watered through summer and they've taken off. We have a bit of a gap in the new orchard, not far from where the bank started to slide onto the road and where a plum we'd planted hadn't survived. A perfect sunny spot for peaches.
So I grabbed the pots and enlisted my helper:
