She's quite shy and hesitant, this daffodil in the orchard here at Struan Farm. She knows she's the first to make an appearance, she told me so, and is thinking that perhaps she's just a bit premature. So she's drooping down and not reaching up for the sky just yet.
It's heartening to look out and see that pop of brilliant yellow on the hill. It gives one hope that there are many more to come. And I've told her so, thanking her for her courage.
