The first lambs started to drop here at Struan Farm over the weekend. Poor wee things, the weather has been terrible with heavy rain going sideways, but they sheltered under trees in protected areas of the paddock and everyone is okay. We are out checking on everyone in the morning and late afternoons. This is the first year these ewes have lambed, so we try not to do anything to disturb them.
Granddaughter Ella christened the first born "Lemon" given its yellow tint, common to just born lambs. These lambs aren't pets, so who knows if we'll be able to figure out who "Lemon" is ever again! I'll let you know when/if we get our first pet, I've already got some names in mind....one might be Matilda in honour of Roald Dahl.
More to come!
