Here in New Zealand our Christmas desserts tend toward pavlovas, trifles, and peak summer fruit. And here at Struan Farm we are very lucky to have Piopio Berry Orchard on our doorstep, lavishing us with a "berry trifecta" of amazing strawberries, blueberries and raspberries at this time of the year.
This weekend John and I have a special visitor from the UK staying with us, grandson Charlie. We're going to the Piopio Santa Parade tonight, but for tomorrow night I've decided to make a special festive dessert, Mindfood's "Christmas Berry Tiramisu."
Trifles tend to taste better made ahead and macerating in the fridge, which works really well at this busy time of the year. But do you think he'll like it? I know John and I will!
