Our bees and their hives have returned to Struan Farm after a working holiday in the kiwifruit orchards of Te Puke. Their absence gave us time to take the huge redwood tree down on the knob above their spot, as well as the associated cleanup. Everyone is settling back in, they are parked in the "Bull Paddock," along the Old Road. I'm seeing a substantial uptick in bees in the gardens (and we've always had a good number of both honey and bumble bees).
Looking forward to tasting some of that honey, just not sure when that will bee be!
