We had visitors in the Pet Paddock at Struan Farm this week: two little rascals from across the road. I'm tempted to call them "Porgy" and "Bess" once again, since this seems to be an annual occurrence.
They can get through just about any fence and run very fast. I guess that's a good thing in terms of dodging cars and trucks on SH3. John came back the day before yesterday to tell me that he'd watched the sheep, led by Rosie, gather into a mob and chase them back home. It was quite unusual, and the funniest thing he'd seen for awhile. Once the sheep were moved into a different paddock the two little pigs decided to come back to the Pet Paddock.
I love having them visit because they are so much fun to watch frolicking around, but it's dangerous for them to run across the road. The neighbours are working on improved containment options. We did make sure they got back across and up into a paddock, sounds like they headed home for a feed after we disturbed them. I suspect we'll see them again once the acorns, walnuts and chestnuts start to land, unless the neighbours do succeed in constructing Alcatraz.
Little piggies are VERY difficult to contain. Time and growth will take care of the problem! :)
