I was just down in the Pet Paddock here at Struan Farm, checking out the status of ripening autumn apples, figs, and walnuts in relative peace and quiet except for a bit of traffic along the main road.
Then overhead came a curious buzzing sound, one that sounded rather like a drone, not that I'm terribly familiar with them. Why on earth would a drone be buzzing around our boundary fence with the neighbour?
Question answered shortly thereafter, when a fellow came wandering down along with fence with dogs and drone control "thingie" in his hands. I asked him what he was doing with the drone, if in fact that was what it was. He told me that he uses it to help herd the feral goats around the farm. Surprising really. What next?
I'm going to report this back to John. He needs to step up his game. Technology may be just be the answer, to chase those goats off when they get through the fence to munch on his native tree plantings!
