At the end of last week arborists-in-training made their way to Struan Farm for the fourth annual Asplundh Arbor Camp. It's a fun and interesting time, both for them and us. The participants are different each year and are nominated by their particular regions around New Zealand. They camp out or stay in Jim's Hut at the river if they forget to bring camping gear. During the day they learn and progress their professional certifications. Several of our big, feature trees in the Pet Paddock get assessed, climbed and pruned as well.
The trees relish the attention, they seem much happier afterward!
