I was bombing up the driveway here at Struan Farm a few days ago (as I do) when something caught my eye: flashes of bright yellow. Hooray! The first daffodils of the season had popped open. I'm wanting to finish that preceding sentence with another exclamation mark, but have exercised restraint. Hmmm, must be that I have become Kiwi?
And while I'm happy to see them, they're way, way, way too early, which is quite bold of them. I haven't even finished cutting back the roses or pruned the fruit trees yet. I'm waiting, still, for a crisp, cold, sunny day. A Kiwi exercises restraint, yet again.
