The fencing around the Pet Paddock and the Old Orchard Paddock here at Struan Farm is getting a bit of a "redo" down at the Homestead. John is thinking that he might want to install a tennis court where the old tennis court was, and wants the area (currently grassed) to be sized properly "just in case."
Let me say that this remains a subject of considerable debate, since I don't see us having much time, or desire, to play tennis. Not that many people play tennis these days, do they? Cycling seems to have supplanted golf and tennis with people who were into all that. I'm not disparaging it either way, just musing why this makes any sense for us to consider. John may be harkening back to times past while I'm trying to reduce the work associated with maintenance of our property. As you may suspect, it's considerable.
In any event, Mike has been working away to adjust the wooden fencing:
What this will allow for is an area for a larger marquee/tent if someone wanted to have a wedding here at Struan Farm again at any point. That makes more sense to me than tennis, as much as we're not promoting ourselves as a wedding venue!
