The plums, peaches and nectarine have finished flowering in the orchard areas here at Struan Farm, now it's time for the apples, quince, nashi and pear trees. Here's hoping for more quince and pears this year, we should be on a roll with the apple trees now although our Monty's Surprise and Peasgood Nonsuch trees did get fairly serious prunes during winter.
The bell shaped blossoms of the quince are my favourite, although I'm guessing that they make it a bit trickier for the bees.
