There's always been a pohutukawa tree growing at the edge of one of the QEII native bush reserves here at Struan Farm. Well, almost always. It was planted by John's sister Julie many years ago now, but we've never seen it flower. Piopio is well outside the range for New Zealand's native "Christmas tree," being inland and mostly too cold.
We've never seen it flower until now, that is!
All the best for a very Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
