I spent some quiet time in the garage here at Struan Farm a few days ago, scissors in hand, trimming our harvest of shallots and garlic. Both had been drying out on tables spread with newspaper since Christmas. Most were dry enough to trim and store now, except for a few shallots with a bit of green remaining.
I decided to plait/braid bunches of the garlic into "ristras" and hang them in the garage. At least until John complains that the vegetables are taking over his hooks. I've gotten better at ristras, at least I think so!
