We've had quite a few tomatoes from the gardens at Struan Farm this season in excess of 500 grams. Up to this point the leader was one weighing 618. I picked one this past week that came close to rivalling that, at 610.
But I've been keeping my eye on a Black Cherokee heirloom tomato growing away in the backyard, and it's far and away the winner this year at 776 grams! (That's 1.71 pounds for my American friends.)
With thanks to Mother Nature and the Tomato Gods, of course.
