This past week John was able to get the 22 rewarewa trees we recently purchased planted (and fenced) along the drive up to the new shed here at Struan Farm. This is just the start of the landscaping we're doing this winter in the bowl below our house where the macrocarpa trees were taken out last summer.
Rewarewas grow quite straight and tall. They are only one of two remaining native proteas here in New Zealand, the others are extinct. They have beautiful flowers that both bees and birds love, so many reasons to plant them.
Yes, yet another project where "you gotta have vision!"
